MANIPURManipur,
one of the States of the Northeast India, yet untouched and undiscovered
promises to be a great tourist discovery of the millennium. The game polo
originated here. Rich in art and culture, the tribal dances of Manipur
are an expression of the nature, creativity and aesthetism of the tribal
way of life. Rich in flora and fauna the dancing deer 'Sangai' is found
here. The Loktak lake, the only floating National Park in the world is
located here. How to reach : Imphal, the State capital is connected by air from Delhi,
Guwahati and Kolkata. You could fly straight to Imphal or first fly in
to Guwahati. Jungle Travels staff will receive you in Guwahati or Imphal
and arrange to transfer you to your hotel. Entry
Formalities: What to bring: You need to bring sweaters and warm jackets. A good pair of walkiing shoes, binoculars, insect repellent, a torch light will come in handy. It is advisable to travel light. Itineraries Manipur DANCING DEER OF MANIPUR Day 01 : Arrive Imphal By Air Reach Imphal from Guwahati or Delhi/Kolkata. Jungle Travels staff will receive you and arrange transfer to your hotel. After lunch we will visit the Khwairambad Bazar or Ima Market, a unique all women's market having approximately 2000 imas or mothers who run the stalls. Exquisite handlooms and handicrafts will impress you. By late afternoon we will will take you to see a polo match in traditional gear. Polo, now played all over the world originated here. We return to hotel. Overnight.
Day 02: IMPHAL Today after breakfast we will visit Shree Govindajee Temple, a historic
Vaishnava center. The temple is a simple but beautiful structure. Afternoon
we will be visiting the museum and then explore Imphal city. Return
to hotel in the evening to freshen up and get some rest. This evening
we have arranged a traditional dinner for you. This is the highlight
of the evening. While you enjoy your dinner served on plaintain leaves
under the open sky, do not miss the traditional Manipuri dance being
performed. Overnight at the hotel. Day 03 : LOKTAK LAKE After
early morning breakfast at the hotel we drive to Loktak Lake, 48 km
away. The Loktak Lake is the only floating National Park in the world
also known locally as Keibullamjao National Park. A glimpse of the dancing
deer 'Sangai' is a must for every wild life enthusiast. Other wild life
preset are : hog deer, otter, water fowls and migratory birds. Packed
lunch will be served. We return to Imphal in the evening. Overnight
at the hotel. Day
04 : AIRPORT TRANSFER After breakfast
transfer to Imphal airport to catch out going flight. THE TOUR ENDS
